The Town of Light is a historically inspired adventure game that gives a look at the real horrors that psychological patients in the 1970's. Players explore a real-life mental institution in Italy called Ospedale Psichiatrico di Volterra and the story of Renee, one of the patients there. LKA.it made The Town of Light as realistic as they could. They took tours of Ospedale and spent a year researching mental health before making the game. Leo Zullo, the Managing Director at publisher Wired Productions hopes the demo can bring mental health to people's attention. “Mental health is a current issue that should be raised to understand further, and we’re pleased to do our part by offering a teaser of The Town of Light to raise awareness of the struggles of real people,” he told Hardcore Gamer. “We hope gamers take the opportunity to get their hands on the demo, and then eagerly look to finish the journey that they started, in the full game.”
