Grimorio of Games has announced that a major content drop is coming to Sword of the Necromancer on June 24.  When this free "Extra Modes" DLC hits, fans will have all manner of new stuff to explore. Specifically, the Extra Modes DLC is adding three new game modes, ten new monsters and eight new bosses for players to challenge. There's even a new Epilogue chapter getting added to the story, but players will have to complete the new modes in order to unlock it.

The first for the new modes is Challenge Mode, which runs players through the dungeon again but adds new enemies and surprise encounters. After that, fans can try out Colosseum Mode. This one functions as a "horde" mode of sorts, sending waves of stronger and stronger enemies for players to defend against. If one wants to survive in this colosseum, they'd better master the art of racking up combos to increase their chances for good items.

Those who need an even greater challenge can also take on Boss Rush. This one throws five random bosses at the player, all of which are tougher than they are in the standard dungeon. It's worth taking on though, because those who emerge victorious will gain one of the original bosses as a summon. Also, fans can also take a crack at making their own labyrinths by using the new Dungeon Builder mode. Not at all bad for a free update, eh?

Sword of the Necromancer is available now for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The Extra Modes DLC drops for all platforms on June 24. Those that still don't know all that much about the game should make sure to check out our review, as it should be enough to set expectations before diving in.
