Former Epic Games lead designer Cliff Bleszinski has said that the idea of Gears of War being remastered for Xbox One is a “no-brainer.”

Bleszinski, who was at the helm of the first three Gears of War instalments, took to Twitter to express his views on the matter, in which he added that should Microsoft be contemplating a remastered version of the critically acclaimed franchise, then they need to “make sure they do it justice and knock it out of the park!”

Microsoft acquired the rights to the Gears of War IP last year from Epic Games, with Black Tusk Studios currently developing the first instalment since 2013’s Gears of War: Judgment.

Rod Fergusson, who was promoted to the position of studio head of Black Tusk Studios last month, has recently enlisted former Epic Games developer Greg M. Mitchell to work on the next title in the Gears franchise.

Fergusson, however, has already dismissed the notion that Black Tusk is working on a so-called 'Marcus Fenix Collection' for Xbox One -- a collection containing the first three Gears titles, DLC and updated visuals -- but he has confirmed that Gears of War will be at E3 2015.

The new Gears of War title has not received an official release date as of yet.
