Gears of War: Ultimate Edition’s PC Version Released in China

The PC version of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition has been released in China as of today, May 3, developer The Coalition has announced.

The Coalition shared the news via the Gears of War Twitter account, saying that it is “proud to release [Gears of War] in China for the first time.”

China has held a notorious reputation for its long-standing history of restricting access to gaming consoles, but that changed in 2015 when Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft were granted permission to sell and manufacture consoles in the country.

The Coalition announced the Ultimate Edition at Microsoft’s 2015 E3 press conference alongside the world premiere of Gears of War 4, the next installment in the critically acclaimed series.

Following on from its Xbox One release in 2015, the Ultimate Edition arrived on PC earlier this year.

Yesterday, The Coalition confirmed that as the beta for Gears of War 4 has finally come to an end, it’s added One Shot One Kill (OSOK) mode and quadruple XP bonus to the Ultimate Edition as a thank you to the Gears of War community.

In other news, The Coalition revealed what the Gears of War 4 Season Pass would include and also announced Gears of War 4: Ultimate Edition.

Gears of War 4 will launch worldwide on October 11 for Xbox One.
