Developer Radiation Blue's ambitious cross-over of simulation, base-building/management, first-person shooting and strategy in the form of Genesis Alpha One will no longer release this year, publisher Team17 announced today in an update on their official blog. "We’ve taken the decision to delay the release of Genesis: Alpha One to January 2019, to continue balancing, polishing and fine-tuning the game," it reads. "We’ve had a lot of feedback since we announced Genesis: Alpha One way back in February 2017 and there are several key aspects which we feel need more time to ensure that the game is as good as it can possibly be."

It goes on to list some notable inclusions and updates the studio hope to include such as an enhanced tutorial, better AI behaviour for particular alien species, additional customisation options and more. Genesis: Alpha One, despite its varied mish-mash of genres and sub-genres alike, has already grabbed our attention and while it's disappointing that the game will now miss its previously-scheduled release in September of this year, here's hoping that what the studio claim would have been post-launch content, can now make the day one build even better. No updated release date was provided other than the fact it will now release sometime in January 2019.
