Santa Monica Studios and PlayStation Studios hotly anticipated God of War Ragnarok appears to be launching this year still.
Some of 2022s biggest hits are now 2023 titles. Bethesda Softworks’ Starfield and Redfall, Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sequel, and Warner Bros. Games’ Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League all once had 2022 release windows. Following God of War Ragnarok’s absense at last week’s State of Play and yesterday’s Summer Games Fest, many began to worry that it too would slip to next year. However, it appears that the game will release this year, and we won’t have to wait much longer to see it.
Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has written that his sources say that God of War Ragnarok will launch in November of this year. More importantly, we’re likely to get a solid release date later this month.
God of War Ragnarok was first announced at Sony’s massive PS5 showcase back in 2020 with a 2021 release date. However, a year later at the next major showcase, Sony confirmed the title had slipped to 2022. Neither the publisher or studio has released any new info since then.
Be sure to check back later this month for any new news regarding God of War Ragnarok. The game is in development for PS5 and PS4.
