Raven Software and Activision today revealed what players can expect when Operation Monarch launches in Call of Duty: Warzone tomorrow, May 11.
Its Godzilla vs. Kong starting May 11 when Operation Monarch finally hits Warzone. Running through May 25, players can engage with both monsters in a limited-time game mode. Classified as protector Titans, both can serve as allies in combat, but could also become enemies should you anger them. It is an unknown if a Destroyer Titan like Mechagodzilla will eventually show up on Caldera.
The Operation Monarch game mode is a 60-player match with the Resurgence ruleset enabled. You’ll fight to be the last team standing inside a smaller section of Caldera. During play, you’ll build a meter that unlocks a special killstreak. To do this, you can collect intel by opening supply boxes, collecting special drops, and off the bodies of fallen enemies. You can also nab intel by firing at Godzilla and King Kong, though this might send them into a Titan Frenzy.
The ultimate goal of building up this meter is to acquire the Titan S.C.R.E.A.M. Device (Titan Sonic Communication Radar and Echolocation Array Module). Utilizing this killstreak allows you to unleash one of the Titan’s abilities on any location in Caldera.
Throughout the event, players will work to unlock Godzilla and King Kong themed items by completing challenges. Unfortunately, for multiplayer fans, Operation Monarch themed game modes, events, or challenges won’t be available in Call of Duty: Vangaurd.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now as a free-to-play title on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
