Pokémon Go erupted to major popularity when it launched earlier this year in July and while it still has a lot of users, activity has gone down quite a bit. Developer Niantic Inc. and The Pokémon Company appear to be aiming for some increased activity with a Halloween event this year.

From October 26 to November 1 players will be able to receive six candies for each Pokémon caught, twice as many candies when you hatch an egg, and you will get four times as much candy from your Buddy Pokemon. In addition, the random encounter rates for Pokémon have been altered to make some of the spookier Pokémon appear more often. These Pokemon are Zubat, Golbat, Gastly, Haunter, Gengar, Drowzee, and Hypno. You can read the full list of this event at the official Pokémon website here.
