Polyphony Digital announced today that its coming racer, Gran Turismo Sport, will be receiving a free limited time demo on October 9. The demo will last for four days up until October 12. PlayStation Plus members can pre-load the demo starting October 7 at 8:00 AM PST. For everyone else, download and access to the demo starts October 9th at 6:00pm PT. The demo officially ends October 12th at 8:00am PT. Most importantly, earned credits and unlocked cars will transfer to the real game on its October 17 release date.

Players will have access to the custom livery editor, as well as Sport, Campaign, and Arcade modes. Sport mode will involve racing against real life competitors as players will qualify and then match up to similarly skilled opponents. Campaign mode will allow players to tackle challenges and get circuit experience. Finally, Arcade mode is just for jumping in as players will have three different car classes and circuits to choose from. This includes 2-player split-screen action.

The last thing available in the demo will be the Photo mode. Known as Scapes, this will be more than just a general photo mode with pics as Polyphony Digital has worked on the HDR engine to really make the lighting of the area bring life to the car. The demo will offer fans a chance to start getting acquainted to the setup.
