The unbalanced leverage and player exploits in “Grand Theft Auto V Online" have turned many gamers away from playing the game entirely. However, Rockstar’s newest patch on the multiplayer mode may convince them to return to Los Santos with an open mind.

Last Saturday, a patch entitled ‘Update 1.09’ became available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of  "GTA V." The company notes that the patch aims to explicitly heighten the inability to cheat in the game and provide new solutions for dealing with players finding loopholes when it comes to acquiring more GTA$ and RP points than correctly allotted.

The patch may be able to remedy some issues, but considering the distasteful launch of the online component, the experience with this mode thus far feels as painful as Trevor taking a swift kick to the cajones. Rockstar is going to have to do a little bit more than a few patches here and there.

The move towards erasing bad apples is a step in the right direction, but it’s not like there won’t be any more exploits left in the arsenal of cheating players that roam online Los Santos.

Let’s hope that the ‘anti-cheat’ patch is a sign of better things to come for this game and for Rockstar. Maybe an added story via DLC or Heist missions in GTAV Online will help turn things around.
