Director Rupert Wyatt, whom was previously announced as helming multiple unannounced episodes in the still-in-production live-action Halo television series, has departed the project. Citing a "scheduling conflict" as the reason for his departure, in a statement issued earlier in the week. "It's with great disappointment that changes to the production schedule of Halo prevent me from continuing in my role as a director on the series. My time on Halo has been a creatively rich and rewarding experience with a phenomenal team of people. I now join the legion of fans out there, excited to see the finished series and wishing everyone involved the very best."

We last had an update on the project all the way back in June when channel network and production company Showtime offered assurances that the series was still active and in development with a planned broadcast of ten episodes sometime in 2019 -- CBS supporting the series' distribution globally. At the time confirming both Wyatt and writer/producer Kyle Killen were on-board. It's more than five years since Microsoft first announced a live-action series during the company's official Xbox One reveal.
