In addition to a brand new trailer, Treyarch has revealed everything you'll be able to do in the Call of Duty: Black Ops III beta. The beta will include three multiplayer maps, seven game modes, and eight specialists. In addition, players can test the Weapon Paint Shop, Black Ops III's new weapon customization suite.

All three maps have been built from the ground-up to make use of Black Ops III's momentum-based platforming. This is only a fraction of the amount of maps available in the main game. Here's a breakdown of all three maps:

  • Hunted: This big game hunting lodge is situated beneath a waterfall in the lush mountains of Ethiopia, where rugged terrain opens up to long sightlines and a stealthy underwater pathway.
  • Combine: Set in the remote Egyptian Sahara, this vertical farming and sustainability research facility plays fast and frenetic with tight interiors, an open middle and a dangerous flank path.
  • Evac: An abandoned emergency evacuation zone atop an overgrown rooftop in the middle of Singapore’s flooded quarantine zone.

The seven game modes are classic Call of Duty modes. From Team Deathmatch to Hardpoint, there's bound to be a mode in the beta you'll enjoy. Much like the maps, this is just a fraction of the amount of game modes present in the final game:

  • Team Deathmatch
  • Domination
  • Demolition
  • Kill Confirmed
  • Hardpoint
  • Capture the Flag
  • Search & Destroy

Finally we have the eight specialists. Every specialist has their own look, personality, and weapons and abilities. Every specialist can be ranked up, earning more powerful weapons and abilities. Check out the official Treyarch site for a detailed breakdown of every specialist available in the beta.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III is out November 6 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. The PS4 beta will run August 19-August 23, with the Xbox One and PC beta running August 26-August 30.
