Rhythm-based/visual novel series Idolmaster is getting a live-action series adaptation. Amazon will be developing the series and be available exclusively via Amazon Prime streaming. The Idolmaster series is titled The Idolmaster.kr and will be a Korean-based drama series following a group of young Japanese, Korean and Thai women on their path to become idols in the entertainment industry.

In a statement James Farrell, head of content for Asia Pacific Prime Video said "We are excited to be collaborating with Bandai Namco Entertainment and Interactive Media Mix to bring the first Korean Amazon Original series globally.” The Idolmaster.kr  will include K-Pop, Japanese and other international singers. The Idolmaster.kr is scheduled to release sometime in 2017.
