Ikaruga first hit the Dreamcast on consoles after a NAOMI arcade release, and it was revered as one of the greatest vertical shooters ever. After the Dreamcast, a GameCube release saw the game’s reach expand – while an Xbox 360 release did the biggest job possible to bring it into the hands of many more people thanks to the Xbox 360 Arcade branding. Today, Treasure and Nicalis announced that the game will be coming to the Nintendo Switch in late May. The classic can be played in either horizontal or vertical modes, with the latter being perfect for a TATE mode recreation and a more authentic feel to the game. It will be available on May 29 and launch at $14.99.
