At the beginning of the year, IO Interactive teased some of their plans for the second year of content for Hitman 3, including the game’s first post-launch map and a new mode that introduces roguelike elements called Freelancer.

While Freelancer was originally scheduled to be available this Spring as a free update, the Danish developer has announced that the new mode will instead launch in the second half of this year, but promises “an entirely new way to engage with the world and characters” of the World of Assassination trilogy. In addition, IO also shared that the new map, now called Ambrose Island, is targeting a July release window, and will feature Agent 47 prior to the events of Hitman 3, with a first look at the stormy map featured below. Finally, ray tracing will be added to the PC version of the game in a free patch on May 24.
