The highly anticipated A Way Out has officially gone gold, the game’s director, Josef Fares, has confirmed.

Fares made the announcement on Twitter, saying that he “can't even describe [his] excitement.”

Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann was one of the first to reach out to Fares and congratulate him on the news.

“Big congrats to you and the rest of the team! Been looking forward to it for a long time,” Druckmann tweeted.

Going gold means that A Way Out’s master copy has been produced and is ready to be duplicated for mass production ahead of its release.

Part of Electronic Arts’ EA Originals program, Hazelight Studios first revealed its action-adventure co-op title at E3 2017.

Despite the initial rumors that suggested A Way Out would be delayed until 2019, Hazelight confirmed last year that the title would launch in 2018.

A Way Out follows the story of Leo and Vincent, who are plotting to break out of prison. The title has been built for a co-op experience, meaning that both of the protagonists’ stories run simultaneously on the same screen.

A Way Out is scheduled for release on March 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
