No, you are not hallucinating the above headline. Yes, hot on the heels of yesterday’s news of an official dating sim where you can romance Colonel Sanders, KFC is now teasing what appears to be a promotional event with Rainbow Six Siege. The fried chicken chain actually started up a KFC Gaming division in October of last year, but we all arguably didn’t much of it, basically thinking they would just manage promo tie-ins like when Colonel Sanders appeared in WWE 2K18. But if these last two days are any indication, they may be going all in.
The news of this event comes courtesy of the official KFC Gaming Twitter account, as seen below. Details are a bit scarce at the moment, but the teaser highly suggests a competition or tournament of sorts, with “CASH AND CHICKEN TO BE WON” (the latter coming in the form of KFC gift cards, we assume). We’ll learn more about this odd pairing on September 23, when more details appear. It should be noted that this was the result of another tournament itself, a “World Cup of Games” series of polls held by KFC Gaming, where players voted for their favorite games. Notably, titles such as Super Smash Bros., BioShock, Pokemon, The Last of Us, and God of War were included, leading us to only imagine what promotions would have resulted if any of those had won…
September 23rd.
