Hideo Kojima has been officially inducted into the D.I.C.E. Awards' Hall of Fame for leaders in the games industry.

In a blog post on their website, The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences has made Kojima the newest game creator to join the list. The Academy's president, Martin Rae, spoke about his excitement for the newest addition to the list, saying, “As one of the most well-loved and well-respected designers of our time, it is a great honor for the Academy to induct him into our Hall of Fame. Hideo is a game creator whose eyes have always looked towards the future, and we look forward to his thoughts on the D.I.C.E. Summit stage.”

Kojima joins many other titans in the industry. The list spans from 1998 to 2014 and includes names such as Shigeru Minamoto of Nintendo, Peter Molyneux from Lionhead Studios, and most recently Leslie Benzies of Rockstar Games.

The induction comes after Kojima's leave from his company, Konami. 2015 was a rough year for the creator, as relationships at Konami worsened. He officially left the company on December 15 and started his own development studio in association with Playstation. Kojima Productions first game will debut first on PS4, and make it's way to PC eventually.
