Halo: The Master Chief Collection, a game in dire need of patching, has just had its latest patch delayed. Developer 343 Industries announced via Halo Waypoint that the patch is not ready, nor is the patch’s beta.
The patch was set to fix some of the compilation’s most dire problems; matchmaking search time, match search success. and lobby/party functionality. 343 has yet to set a new release date for the patch.
“As this update contains the biggest changes to the Matchmaking system yet, we’ve identified that additional time and testing is required, and we are currently evaluating both timing and need for a CU beta with the Xbox One Preview program, as well as the final public release date in February. We’ll continue to provide the latest updates here on Waypoint.”
While Halo: The Master Chief Collection earned praise at launch, fans and critics alike quickly discovered the compilation to be severely broken. In response, 343 apologized by offering Halo 3: ODST Remastered and 1 month of Xbox Live Gold for free. A nice gesture, sure, but the game’s issues still remain.
