This year Riot did something they hadn't done before, and that's crowdfunding to up the Grand Finals payout.

So over the course of a month or so players have been able to buy two items and 25% of that income went into the pool. As of yesterday the prize pool sat at a total of $5.07 million. That's an incredible leap from years past where the total was $1 million with no funding.

Here's how that $5 million+ will be distributed:

• 1st place: 40%
• 2nd place: 15%
• 3rd/4th place: 7.5% (15% total)
• 5th-8th place: 4% (16% total)
• 9th-12th place: 2.25% (9% total)
• 13th-16th place: 1.25% (5% total)

Here's the kicker about the prize pool too and it's that though the last match will be played today, you can still increase the winnings until November. So if you haven't already and want a sweet Zed skin and a ward skin to go with it you still have time to add to the pot.
