The past ten years have seen an incredible surge in the popularity of gameplay streaming, creating a new class of personalities. For better or worse, gameplay videos are more than a passing fad. It is a new way to enjoy and learn about gaming. Some people don’t have the time, or desire, to deal with YouTube or Twitch, though. Something cool happened, they recorded it and they just want to share it with friends. Two Canadian gentlemen, Corey and Mohamed, ran into this exact situation and decided to create an app to solve this.

With the general idea in mind, they set to work in putting together the a product that is quick and easy to use. Over months of heavy testing and tweaking, they have the process simplified. The app is called Leet, a burgeoning social network designed for gamers by folks who are gamers themselves.

Standing outside, in a line, Mohamed demonstrated the process of creating a clip. He took a video that he had created that was about a half an hour long. Knowing the part that he found amusing, he proceeded to use two fingers to locate the desired section, cut out the rest, and share it to his Leet followers. The time it took: around twenty seconds, start to finish. They aren’t unreasonable. They realize that people have followers and friends across other social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. This is why they have included the ability to cross post and share.

Considering the deluge of social media apps these days, it takes something to really stand out. The simplified editing tools that Leet offers, along with the focus on games and gamers, is an intriguing one. Anyone who wishes to check it out can do so for free on iOS. Sadly, the project is still so fresh that Android users need to wait for their love.
