Fishing games are nothing new to the world of gaming, but a fair bunch of them are incredibly arcade-like in implementation. Fishing Planet isn’t looking to be another one of those.
Instead, Fishing Planet is a realistic simulator approach to the art of fishing. Players can select their lures, practice angling, catch “the big one,” or simply enjoy a digital fishing tournament with other players in multiplayer.
Supposedly the fish themselves have complex AI patterns to make them behave realisticly depending on time of day, season, and more. If that’s the kind of thing that excites you then upvote Fishing Planet on Steam Greenlight already.
Being part of Beta testing team, i can say that what developers are saying, is 100% true. Fish acts like a fish, not like a dumb pixels collection. e.g. I tried to catch a trout in a deep reservoir, using almost any standard method. Nothing worked. I start to get them only when i applied in game a non-orthodox method i use in real life, in same fishing conditions! Impressive, isn’t it?

joined as a beta tester and being a 40 year plus real fisherman with
a O Humm just another fishing game , after a few hours I began to
realize this game is not your normal fishing game.
It has unbelievable depth and I really began to approach it
with the same problem solving ways to catch fish I use in real
fishing , and was not disappointed on how well that worked.
Simply outstanding game play that will still need some work
in areas but what else can one expect GAME IS STILL IN BETA.
Really can’t wait to see where this one goes.

Seriously if you like fishing this is the place to be, try it out even if your not so much into fishing you’ll be a fishing freak after playing this.
The graphics are insanely good the sound is great and gameplay is simply mind blowing fish AI is real !!
It will be huge they have great future plans for this game.
It will be free to win but if you like it you definitely should support them on the main page you can donate some payal.
These dev’s definitely deserve it they are doing a great job and really listen to the anglers/players and the game will only improve the more resources they have.
I supported many many games in my gaming carreer but never had i the feeling of money well spend as i do with this dev/game.
