The final day of Stage one of the Overwatch League was a doozy, but has finished with London Spitfire being crowned the winners.

London Spitfire started the day needing to take maps off of New York Excelsior to make it into the playoffs. They finished the first match losing 3-2 but they're job was done. New York would be their final opponent having already clinched the number one spot in OWL.

Having secured their spot they faced the Houston Outlaws and won the match 3-1 setting up a rematch of the first match of the day. London Spitfire had a rough start to that series going down 2-0, but had a chance on Horizon Lunar Colony for the reverse sweep and took that game after a full hold on the first point after both teams successfully full pushed the rounds before. They had the bigger timebank and made great use of it.

After that they had to follow it up on Numbani and only took one checkpoint, but once again full held to keep themselves in the contention and the reverse sweep alive. The final map of the day was Dorado and previously Spitfire handed NYXL their only loss on this map just this evening. After almost completing a full push they managed to hold off NYXL just before checkpoint two and secured themselves the Stage One Championship.

The prize pool was $125,000 and London Spitfire will take home $100,000 of that. With Stage One done the teams will take a break, make some signings and return for a whole new meta come February 21. You can catch up on all the action here.
