When E.X. Troopers was announced to be a Playstation 3 and Nintendo 3DS title based in the Lost Planet universe back in June, it created a positive reaction among fans as they applauded Capcom for going in a different direction after the poorly constructed sequel. Unfortunately, it was brought up at Capcom-Unity, Capcom's community site, that E.X. Troopers will not be making it out of Asia.

"No because EX Troopers isn't part of the LP series officially (thus the difference in name) nor are there plans to bring it Westward at this time," says Christian Svensson, Capcom's Corporate Officer and Senior Vice President, in response to a question about splintering franchises.

Fortunately, Svensson's wording doesn't completely rule out the probability of a localization, but it's more than likely tied to demand. To be honest, the mass market probably doesn't want anime-influenced games, and Capcom's focus in the West is more on multi-million sellers than niche titles. For anyone who wants to import E.X. Troopers, Capcom will be releasing the game in Japan on November 22nd, 2012.
