David Thompson, founder of Ludometrics, announced Bodycheck, "a sports game for people who don’t necessarily like sports", for the PlayStation Vita. The news broke earlier today in a post on the PlayStation Blog. This is the first time that Ludometrics has made a game for a "core" gaming console.

Thompson said that Ludometrics was inspired by the origins of football "I love reading about the origins of football in the Middle Ages, with 500 players per team and matches lasting days." The sports game will feature "no rules against foul play, magic powers, and (explicit) corruption."

While no firm release date has been announced, the developer's Twitter shows they are "aiming for Q3 this year."
