Last year, Microsoft announced their mixed reality headsets - but haven't revealed a lot of information since then. Today, Microsoft announced that they will start shipping Acer-created headsets. The development edition looks solid, with a sharp blue and black appearance. Any devs who attended the Windows Mixed Reality session at GDC will get the headset free of charge. The dev kits will include the headset, documentation, and an SDK to ensure that developers can craft the mixed reality applications of their dreams. The headset includes two 1440 x 1440 LCD  screens and a 90 Hz refresh rate, and it will use HDMI 2.0 for displaying the image and USB 3.0 for connectivity.
