If you thought 2015 was an awesome year for Xbox One, just you wait until you see what Microsoft has planned for 2016.

2015 was an amazing year for Xbox One. After the disastrous reveal, launch, and first half of 2014, Xbox One came back swinging in 2015. With a strong emphasis on games, new Xbox Head Phil Spencer delivered a stellar lineup of titles, Xbox One Backwards Compatibility, and a redesigned UI that made 2015 one of the strongest years in Xbox history. Now, its 2016, and Microsoft has big plans to build upon a last year's success.

Here's a snapshot of everything coming to Xbox One next year:

  • Gears of War 4 (Xbox One) – Multiplayer Beta in Spring 2016/Launch in Fall 2016
  • Quantum Break (Xbox One) – April 5, 2016
  • Halo Wars 2 (Xbox One & Windows 10) – Fall 2016
  • Crackdown 3 (Xbox One) – Multiplayer in Summer 2016
  • Fable Legends Open Beta (Xbox One & Windows 10) – Spring 2016
  • ReCore (Xbox One & Windows 10) – 2016
  • Sea of Thieves (Xbox One & Windows 10) – 2016
  • Gigantic (Xbox One & Windows 10) – 2016
  • Killer Instinct: Season 3 (Xbox One & Windows 10) – March 2016
  • Gears of War: Ultimate Edition (Windows 10) – Spring 2016
  • Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition (Xbox One & Windows 10) – Spring 2016
  • Cobalt (Xbox One, Xbox 360 & Steam) – Feb. 2, 2016

That's a lot of games! It is nice to see titles like ReCore (now coming to PC), Halo Wars 2, and Crackdown 3 will indeed launch in 2016. It's going to be a big year for Xbox One, and hopefully we won't see too many delays to 2017. Scalebound, an Xbox One exclusive that was supposed to launch this has already been delayed to 2017.
