Halo fans got extremely excited a few days ago when a new employee at 343 Industries potentially leaked the release date for Halo 5: Guardians. Behind him is a countdown clock, which many took as a countdown to launch. Eagle-eyed users calculated that Halo 5: Guardians would launch November 10, 2015, a plausible date considering that November 10 is a Tuesday.
Alas, it may not be November 10 after all. Microsoft has issued a statement debunking the supposed release date.
“The recent rumors regarding the release date of Halo 5: Guardians are false.”
If the countdown clock isn’t for the release date, then what else could it mean? It’s possible that the game has to be finished on November 10, 2015 in order for Microsoft to begin printing the Blu-Ray discs and shipping them to retailers. Of course, November 10, 2015 could be the release date, but Microsoft is unwilling to commit to the date in case the game gets delayed.
Halo 5: Guardians’ release date will remain a mystery until E3 2015 where Microsoft will make the big announcement at their press conference. In the meantime, get ready for the worldwide gameplay debut on November 10, 2014.
