Well, it looks like August was just getting too busy for Warner Bros. Interactive. With games such as Agents of Mayhem, Sonic Mania, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and Yakuza Kiwami, just to name a few, there's no wonder the next installment into the Middle-earth game franchise is shifting months.

To be fair, Middle-earth is probably larger than most of those games, but Warner Bros. Interactive has delayed the game regardless to ensure its quality is up to snuff. Announced today, Middle-earth: Shadow of War  will no longer be able to hit its original August 22 release date:

"As with Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Monolith is committed to delivering the highest quality experience," wrote Monolith Production's Community Manager, Andy Salisbury. "In order to do this, we have made the difficult decision to move our launch date to ensure that Middle-earth: Shadow of War will deliver on that promise."

Middle-earth: Shadow of War will now be releasing October 10 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
