HandyGames is, as of the beginning of July this year, now officially part of the THQ Nordic portfolio of studios, the publisher announced today in what is the company's latest acquisition. HandyGames, a German-based developer/publisher and founded in 2000, has predominantly developer and published games for mobile platforms and VR but has on occasion worked on console platforms.

THQ Nordic state that HandyGames will be the new "go to" studio to accommodate the publishing of the company's small to mid-sized projects in the coming future. It's unclear if this will mean HandyGames will veer closer to consoles or remain primarily fixed on mobile/VR platforms. It's the third German studio to become part of THQ Nordic's internal development following both Grimlore Games and Black Forest Games.
