While the series' latest, mainline incarnation is doing pretty well for itself -- even with its impending PC release still months away -- following its release earlier in the year, it's Monster Hunter's 2018 outing, World, that once again finds itself the recipient of another major milestone. Capcom today announcing that World's runaway sales success has now passed 20 million units shipped globally. This updated figure takes into account the Master Edition, which bundles both the base game as well as 2019's stand-alone expansion, Iceborne.

Nevertheless, it's another impressive landmark for what remains Capcom's best-selling game in the company's history (a statistic that is unlikely to change anytime soon). This year's outing, Monster Hunter Rise -- which remains exclusive to Nintendo Switch -- isn't doing too bad either with total sales, as of last month, of 7.5 million with its own expansion, Sunbreak, set to release in Summer 2022. Rise's PC version is planned to release on January 12.
