2K and Gearbox Entertainment have released new gameplay details for the upcoming side story to the Borderlands series, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. This is the first of several updates for the looter shooter launching on March 25. A new trailer, which can be viewed below, along with a Game Guide and Dev Diary have been released to break down the first aspects of the game. The core of Tiny Tina's Wonderland is being able to create your perfect hero through deep appearance customization and a multiclass system that allows you to mix and match six unique character trees.

New environments will also be a driving force in Tiny Tina's Wonderland. These are uniquely designed environments that feature their own plot missions along with side quests, unique enemies and more. Taking place in the Wonderlands, environments range from mushroom forest to private coves. On your quest through the Wonderlands to defeat the Dragon Lord, the first line of enemies revealed is the Skeleton Army. Dragon Lord reanimates these dead bodies as his soldiers as they are focused entirely on killing you.

While Borderlands is famous for its gunplay and guns will certainly be in Tiny Tina's Wonderland, Gearbox is including spellcasting and melee combat. You will have access to a dedicated melee weapon that remains equipped and ready for combat. Spellcasting will include short cooldown that allow more magic to be used. Whether it be burning with fire or throwing with a mini tornado, this should certainly add a new aspect to the Borderlands gameplay. The Overworld is a nod to tabletop gaming and provides a third-person view as characters spring around Tina's game board. This allows you to explore the many nooks and crannies of the game board with some minor discoveries or an entirely new area for exploration. You can check out the trailer below.
