Developer Matt Thorson's latest and upcoming project -- the mountain-climbing, twitchy-platformer Celeste -- has just grabbed itself a release date. As shown during today's Nintendo Direct Mini, the TowerFall follow-up, which finds players navigating more than six hundred levels of vertical walls, shafts, spikes and other such deadly obstacles, Celeste will be releasing January 25 across PS4, Switch & PC.

Deemed a spiritual successor to Thorson's previous game, Celeste shares much of Towerfall's vibrant colors and visual aesthetic but it would seem the challenge here is being kicked up a notch with such things like stamina and timing even more of an importance as players navigate the cold and wintry upper reaches of the game.
