The latest RPG from GUST, Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book is heading over to the US in June. As we approach, Koei Tecmo America has seen fit to release some more tidbits of information about the cell-shaded role-playing game and how it works. When playing through the game and completing missions, players need to be wary of the Time and Weather. These two elements dictate circumstances like what monsters appear, and what materials may be harvested. As the title implies a large part of Atelier Sophie is gathering supplies and crafting. So while fighting is important, the crafting and harvesting can go hand-in-hand with what players will fight and why.

A more noticeable new addition to the series is Atelier Sophie's fatigue-base health system. When player characters have been out and about too long, attacks will actually become weakened. This happens when characters have been scouring supplies or battling for extended amounts of time. To rest up and get effectiveness back up, characters need to return to the atelier. This and the Time and Weather elements are meant to contribute heavily to making the game more challenging and different from previous Atelier games.
