While big games are currently dropping left and right during the early months of 2017, some of the biggest games of 2016 are still receiving new content, including Respawn’s mech shooter Titanfall 2, which will be adding a new Live Fire mode today.

As was detailed earlier this month, Live Fire is a single-life pilots-only mode, featuring small arenas and fast-paced rounds with high stakes as players try to secure the flag for their team. Live Fire will launch with two new mode-specific maps, alongside a new Coliseum map, execution, balancing changes, and the start of a Double XP weekend when the patch is deployed later today, although it should be noted that the Double XP can only be earned via the new Live Fire mode. As the first big content drop for Titanfall 2 this year, it will be intriguing to see how Respawn continues supporting their FPS with free DLC in the months to come.

Titanfall 2 is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and received high praise in our review, both for its single-player campaign and multiplayer modes.
