Safe to say NieR: Automata has turned out to be a pretty good game. But it looks as if the going's on of Earth in the 120th century -- more specifically the proxy-war fought between machines and androids -- will be expanded upon in a new novel based, though not centred entirely, around the game's events. Announced via Nier's official Twitter account, Jun Eishima -- who has written spin-off novels for the Drakengard series previous -- has penned a new tale that aims to run parallel with the game's main narrative.

The game's director, Yoko Taro, will be acting as supervisor for the book. Sadly no information has been released as to whether or not the novel will see any kind of Western release. So it looks like only those willing to import and can read Japanese, will get to see more from the World of Automata...least for the time being.
