A little under four months since it was announced that the game had reached 1.5 million in units sold, NieR: Automata has finally made it past the next big mile-stone with total sales now in excess of two million across PS4 & PC, Square Enix have unveiled today. Copies of the game on PC specifically make up just over a quarter of that total with around 550,000 digital copies sold through Steam.

It's another positive and (to many) richly-deserved accolade for PlatinumGames and director Yoko Taro's 2017 collaboration, despite the series' previously niche appeal and reach. If you haven't picked up a copy of the game yet, Nier: Automata will be discounted by a third on Steam until September 25 and on the official PlayStation store until September 27. Read up our review of the game to find out why it just might be one of the best releases of this year.
