Nintendo Switch Sports Launch Trailer Features New, Returning Events

Since the original Wii Sports helped exemplify the broad appeal of the titular console, Nintendo has continued to make the motion control-centric series a staple of each of their new platforms, with Wii Sports Resort in 2009 and Wii Sports Club on Wii U in 2013.

So it was surprising to see the Switch go nearly five years without even the announcement of a family friendly sporting game from Nintendo, as the Joy-Cons offered similar motion functionality to the Wii Remotes. But now, the Japanese developer has released Nintendo Switch Sports, with the launch trailer below showing off each of the six sports: Volleyball, Badminton, Bowling, Soccer, Chambara and Tennis. Each of these activities can be played solo, or against others locally and online, plus a seventh sport, Golf, will be available via a free update in the Fall.
