Mario sports fans are less than two weeks away from the launch of the latest entry in the chaotic soccer series, but eager players can already get their hands on a slice of the game’s offline and online modes.

From now through June 5, Switch owners can download a free Mario Strikers: Battle League demo that includes an offline training mode where players can learn the basics. Next week, players can use that same demo to try out online matches with up to two players per team and the option to invite friends, although the multiplayer will require a Switch Online subscription and will only be available during the six one hour periods listed below:

  • June 3, 8-9 pm PT
  • June 4, 4-5 am PT
  • June 4, 12-1 pm PT
  • June 4, 8-9 pm PT
  • June 5, 4-5 am PT
  • June 5, 12-1 pm PT

Additionally, Nintendo has confirmed that Mario Strikers: Battle League will be receiving free post-launch updates, including new characters to flesh out the relatively-small roster size at launch. Between this limited early access and the promise of more content to come, Mario Strikers: Battle League looks to make its long overdue return to the pitch one worth checking out when the game launches on June 10 for Switch.
