Back in 2004, Pandemic Studios released Star Wars: Battlefront, a multiplayer shooter that allowed up to 64 players to partake in major battles based on the titular film franchise, paving the way for three sequels in the years that followed.

At the time of its original launch, Star Wars: Battlefront was only released physically on PS2, Xbox and PC, making it difficult for fans to get their hands on the original entry in the series on modern platforms. Last year, the game arrived digitally on the Xbox Marketplace, and now, for the first time ever as part of a Star Wars Day promotion, the original Star Wars Battlefront is available on digital PC platforms via Steam and GOG. The title will typically sell for $10, but is currently available for $8.49 until May 8.
