Developer People Can Fly have today gone into further details as to the nature of Outriders' latest, upcoming expansion Worldslayer. Originally teased back in November of last year, following on from the release of the third-person looter-shooter more than a year ago now, Worldslayer introduces a new story campaign, set after the events of the main game on top of a slew of -- as you might've guessed -- gear, weapons and mods to collect. For those who may be jumping into Outsiders now and are fearful of being under-levelled though, People Can Fly confirm that anyone creating a new character/profile for the sake of jumping straight into Worldslayer, will automatically see their character stats boosted to the required level.

Once in, players can expect to find an addition of an entirely new skill tree to invest in as well as what the game dubs Ascension. Ascension kicks in after Character level 30 and uses any XP accrued towards Ascension point which can then be invested back in further boosting stats. But don't expect this to a quick and short investment -- People Can Fly claim it will take upwards of hundreds of hours to unlock all 200 Ascension points available. Furthermore, Outriders' previous tier-based system of altering world difficulty, has been replaced by a more universal Apocalypse Tier ranking. One that now governs both the campaign and the endgame Expeditions Mode.

And speaking of endgame, Worldslayer will also see the introduction of a new type of seperate endgame mode alongside Expeditions, dubbed the Trial of Tarya Gratar once Worldslayer's stand-alone campaign is finished. However, the studio didn't disclose what this mode entails, promising to go into more detail in a future video. Needless to say, for those who enjoyed what Outriders' base game provided, there'll certainly be plenty to do and unlock in the upcoming Worldslayer expansion. Shiny new loot and all. And there isn't long to wait too -- Outriders' Worldslayer expansion releases on June 30.
