Pearl Abysss, known for Black Desert Online has announced that will acquire CCP games, best known for the MMORPG EVE Online. CCP Games will continue to operate as an independent developer with studios in Reykjavik, London and Shanghai will integrating their extensive development and publishing expertise into all current and future Pearl Abyss operations. EVE Online is a space-based, persistant world MMO that originally launched in 2003 that is renowned for its immense scale and complexity. EVE Online's single server shared game world allows players to engage in a wide variety of professions and unscripted economic competitions, warfare and political schemes with other players against thousands of explorable solar systems. EVE Online is one of the most critically acclaimed MMORPG intellectual properties in North America and Europe and has one of the most active and enjoyable fan communities in gaming.

Pearl Abyss first launched their open world MMOPRG Black Desert Online in Korea in 2014, which has received critical acclaim for its advanced graphics, seamless world, large-scale castle sieges and actions based combat system. Since going public in 2017, Pearl Abyss has worked to secure other competitive global IPs such as EVE Online and saw record high sales in the first half of 2018 with the launch of Black Desert Mobile in Korea.
