Sony Interactive Entertainment today announced that Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 has mysteriously been pulled out of PlayStation Plus’ lineup for July.

The company didn’t reveal why Konami’s popular soccer title was withdrawn from the lineup, but it did confirm that it would be swapped out for Detroit: Become Human Deluxe Edition.

"We are making a swap to the PS Plus games lineup for July," digital content producer Matthew Groizard wrote in an update on the PlayStation Blog.

"This month, we are adding Detroit: Become Human Digital Deluxe Edition, which also includes Heavy Rain, to the July games lineup instead of Pro Evolution Soccer 2019. We apologize for any inconvenience."

The other title featured in the lineup, Horizon Chase Turbo, remains unchanged.

Both Detroit and Horizon Chase Turbo will be available on PS Plus from July 2 to August 5.

Quantic Dream’s interactive adventure title was initially released on PlayStation 4 in 2018 and was met with widespread critical and commercial success.

Hardcore Gamer’s review for Detroit found that it told “an endearing story that verges on the profound, diving deep into the nature of humanity itself. It proves that interactivity and focused storytelling aren’t mutually exclusive and that the two can enhance each other given a proper degree of talent behind the scenes.”
