Peter Molyneux hasn't always been honest with gamers in the past, but he's sure as hell not afraid to be blunt. Speaking at the Mobile Entertainment's Top 50 Mobile Innovators event, Molyneux claimed that Grand Theft Auto V sales weren't very impressive at all.

"Grand Theft Auto 5 is a game that's everywhere. It will achieve around $1 billion in revenue on consoles in just one month -- sounds impressive, doesn't it? No. That's not impressive."

Not even $800 million in 24 hours is enough to impress the Fable designer, rather, Molyneux seems more impressed with the success of mobile games.

"Games including Hay Day and Clash of Clans -- those games, which were released 18 months ago, are achieving revenue between $3 million and $5 million each day. That's impressive."

While mobile games have indeed established a huge market over the last few years, and are in their own right doing impressively well, it's hard to deny that $1 billion in a single month isn't a success. Especially considering that such an amount would take over a year for those mobile games to earn, assuming they continuously earn $3 million each day. I just hope this isn't another set of words Molyneux is forced to eat, but only time will tell if Godus can be as unsuccessful as Grand Theft Auto V.
