If you are like us, then you were fiendishly scouring PSN yesterday for Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds' Vita release. When we came up empty-handed after minutes of searching, we began to do a little research. Word on the street was the game had missed its launch date and was possibly delayed. While we assumed it would only be pushed back a week or so, we feared it would go the way of Phantom Breaker 360. Fortunately, our trepidation was quelled when publisher 5pb informed us the game would be delayed until August 12 in North America. It will apparently release tomorrow in Europe with Kurisu DLC delayed until 8/6. The reason given is due to hiccups with the submission process.

So, there you have it. Two weeks. While you wait, go ahead and read our review of Battle Grounds' original Xbox 360 release; hopefully the PSV edition will be just as good. Just be prepared to plunk down $12 for it, as that's its price-tag. If it's just as good as the 360 version, then it'll be a $12 well-spent. This handheld iteration will feature a few new playable characters, a new mode, and various DLC. Not too shabby.
