Side-scrolling platformers have continued to innovate and stay relevant over the years primarily thanks to indie developers, and two of the more critically acclaimed ones in recent years are both free to own for a limited time.

Right now on the Epic Games Store, PC owners can grab both Celeste and Inside for free until September 5 as part of the digital store’s ongoing weekly promotion. Celeste comes from Towerfall developer Matt Thorson, as Madeline attempts to climb the titular mountain in this inspirational and challenging adventure. Meanwhile, Inside is the follow-up to Playdead’s debut title Limbo, and features a darker tale and presentation as a young boy travels across a bleak world and avoids dangerous enemies.
