PopCap and EA today announced the next entry in the Plants vs Zombies franchise, Battle for Neighborville.
Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare was a daring experiement that paid off. Who knew combining shooter mechanics with the lovable Plants vs Zombies formula would work so well. So well, in fact, that the game got a sequel in 2015, and a second one coming later this year. Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville expands on the mechanics players love, and offers a new way to jump into the action right away.
In Battle for Neighborville, players work to unravel threats in the Neighborville area, including the Town Center, Mount Steep, and Weirding Woods. The game includes twenty customizable classes, including fan-favorites like Peashooter and Chomper and newcomers Night Cap and Electric Slide. Players can take the battle online or enjoy split-screen co-op.
Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is out October 18 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. However, for those wanting to jump in sooner, there’s the Founder’s Edition. This $29.99 edition allows players to try out the game starting today. Each week for the next six weeks, PopCap will introduce new multiplayer modes, free-roam regions, and other content to the game. Founders also get special rewards and can carry all their progression into the full game. The Founder’s Edition is only available through September 30.
