Back in April, it was announced -- and surprisingly so -- that XIII, the 2003 first-person shooter about an amnesiac assassin, was getting a current-gen remake. Initially the game not only had a target month, but an actual release date of November 13 to accompany the original teaser trailer released earlier in the year. But it looks like the game is in need of a little more time -- publisher Microids stating that the game has been pushed back into the broader window of 2020.

"We are thrilled with PlayMagic’s work so far." François Coulon, Head of Production at Microïds explained. "This additional development time is needed to reach the level of polish we’re aiming for. The announcement was greeted by an overwhelming response from the community and we’ll make sure to deliver the best possible game to our fans." Originally developed (and published) by Ubisoft, XIII was something of a unique take on first-person shooters at time, not least because of its cel-shaded art-style. So far no gameplay has been shown as to how the remake is looking, but we'll be sure to keep an eye on how XIII's new look is shaping up. The remake of XIII is planned to release across PS4, Xbox One, Switch & PC.
