PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Public Beta Coming Tomorrow

Beyond having a really long title, PSASBR also has a lot of anticipation about it. Much has been made about it being a clone of Smash Bros. and while that’s certainly true, it is possible to have a well-executed clone of an existing game. Crash Team Racing was an awesome kart racer, and even the TMNT clone of Smash Bros. delivered some fun. Thankfully, Sony’s offering appears to have far more options and stuff in it than that game and looks solid.

Starting tomorrow for PS+ members, and on the 23rd of October for regular PSN users (we call you “normies”), you’ll be able to try the game out for yourself. I love that Sony even offers up these public betas because they help answer a lot of questions players may have about a game, and in a sense, act as kind of a free rental since you can see if you’ll like the game before buying it. In this particular instance, six characters will be playable including Kratos, Sweet Tooth, and Sly Cooper with two stages available and the ability to have four-player online tournaments as well as 2 vs. 2 online tourneys. Cross-play is also supported in the beta, so you’ll be able to enjoy it both at home and on the go.
