Treyarch today confirmed that the PlayStation marketing deal that began with Call of Duty: Black Ops III will continue with Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII.

Activision has a long history of partnering with Xbox and PlayStation for its Call of Duty franchise. Starting with Call of Duty: Black Ops and running through Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Activision partnered with Xbox. However, starting with Call of Duty: Black Ops III, they have partnered with PlayStation. That partnership with PlayStation continues this year despite rumblings Xbox would get it back.

Speaking at the Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII reveal event, Studio Head Mark Lamia confirmed that PlayStation retains the exclusive marketing deal for Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII. Not to mention, all promotional material released today highlights PlayStation, not Xbox.

It is currently unknown how extensive this deal is. Traditionally, the deal includes 30 days of timed exclusivity for all DLC map packs. However, Treyarch did not reveal it's DLC plans for Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII. Hopefully, we'll get some more clarification on this in the near future.

Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII is out October 12 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
